Draft a court-page transcription in your browser

A public handwriting demo pairs three original scan pages with a local editor. Downloads remain unreviewed drafts and nothing is automatically submitted.

Three source pages and an editor

The Lebanese Legal Handwriting Space was published on Hugging Face on 30 October 2026. It presents three original court-scan previews beside an Arabic text editor. Visitors can select a page, copy what they can read and mark uncertain or illegible passages. No signup or API key is required.

Drafts stay in the browser

The published demo uses local scripts and images. Its documentation states that there is no submission endpoint or analytics. Browser storage keeps a separate draft for each ruling and physical PDF page. Storage is not a backup; visitors choose when to download their JSON file.

Export records the draft status

An export retains the ruling identifier, physical page number, original PDF hash, draft text and self-reported origin. It explicitly records that the text is unreviewed and unsubmitted, with no agreed annotation licence. A machine-assisted origin label does not establish independent human review. This demo does not complete Dactelo’s acceptance process.

Inspect the page and its source

These are mixed court records, with handwriting and print, rather than anonymised samples or reference transcriptions. MIT covers the demo code, not the scan rights. Use the original PDF link and read the dataset rights and contribution guidance before sharing a draft.
