Read recent legislation from Gazette scans

Gazette page scans provide another source when a recent text is missing from the main collection.

The reader’s problem

A legal catalogue can be large and still miss recent publications.

What changed

The Gazette-scan release added legislation read from page images when the Lebanese University collection did not yet contain the text. These records entered the same legislation and article structure as the rest of the library, with a visible notice about their source.

Using the feature

Open a scanned text and compare its machine reading with the page images. Its publication reference and source notice explain where it came from. When the University's record becomes available, the library can link the earlier scan address to that record rather than leave competing copies.

Reading the evidence

The milestone expands access, not certainty. Machine reading can misread characters, skip a passage or confuse a quoted article with the surrounding law. Treat the page image as the reference and pay particular attention to marked differences and gaps.
