The reader’s problem
Court scans pose a different reading problem from clean typed legislation.
What changed
The judgment update added a way to show disputed spans in the page text and API response. Where multiple readings produced different words, the difference could remain visible for a reader to compare with the original judgment.
Using the feature
A highlighted disagreement is a reason to inspect that place in the PDF. It is more useful than assuming the rest of a machine-readable paragraph has been legally verified. The original scan link stays available on the ruling page so the check can happen at the source.
Reading the evidence
The reading process evolved after this release. The later confidence policy permits a page with one reading to appear and warns about difficult material. Do not interpret this historical milestone as a promise that every published page has several independent readings or that agreement proves accuracy.
