Find legal passages by meaning, then check the source

An optional vector index broadens discovery while rereading candidate passages from the canonical collection.

The reader’s problem

Keyword search can miss a relevant passage when the question uses different words.

What changed

The semantic-retrieval work added an optional vector index alongside ordinary matching and interpreted queries. Exact citations and article references keep their direct route instead of being broadened into unrelated semantic results.

Using the feature

A candidate from the index is checked against the library's current source record before its text is used. Stored source hashes and passage positions help reject stale or mismatched content. If the optional index is unavailable, ordinary retrieval remains available.

Reading the evidence

This release added retrieval infrastructure; it did not train or publish a Lebanese legal model. Semantic similarity is a way to find candidates, not a legal conclusion. A technically valid excerpt can still be irrelevant or incomplete for a question. Check its source, date and surrounding provisions before relying on it.
