Keep repeated and sub-numbered articles distinct

Article lookup accepts spelling variants while preserving distinct legal provision numbers.

The reader’s problem

A small difference in an article number can identify a different legal provision.

What changed

The article-number work normalised accepted spellings for lookup and redirected them to a consistent address. At the same time, it preserved distinctions such as repeated articles and sub-numbered provisions rather than collapsing them into the plain number.

Using the feature

When opening an article, check the number shown beside the parent text. The graph and page address should refer to that same provision. A familiar spelling can help you find it, but the lookup must not erase a suffix that makes the provision legally different.

Reading the evidence

This work improves citation handling rather than changing the law's numbering. The source's actual form remains significant. If a search leads to a nearby provision, compare the complete number and heading before copying the link into a brief, note or dataset.
