Topic guides now open with the answer

We rewrote 22 topic guides in English and Arabic. Each opens with the figure and the article it comes from, and every worked example uses only figures from the cited texts. Gazette scans now link to the original PDF on SaderLex, and the site has a privacy policy and terms of use.

The question is the title.

Each guide is now titled with the question people ask, such as "How is end-of-service indemnity calculated in Lebanon?" Its first two or three sentences give the figure and name the law and article. A table of the figures follows, then one section per sub-question, each opening with a one-sentence answer. The caveats now sit in one closing note, "What this page does not cover", instead of in every section.

Every number comes from a cited article.

Every quote was copied from the database, and worked examples use only figures from the articles a guide cites. Our checker, go run ./cmd/topicgen check, passes on all 22: each quote is exact and each number appears in a cited article. The page addresses did not change.

What we found on the way.

Law 324/2024, article 42, multiplies every Traffic Law fine by ten, with a floor of 250,000 LBP. Our amendment table does not link it to the Traffic Law yet, so the law's article pages do not show it; the traffic fines guide does. The consolidated texts of article 85 of the Code of Commerce and article 9 of the Social Security law are out of date, so those guides cite the amending law instead.

Gazette scans link to their source.

Texts read from Official Gazette scans used to show our copies of the page images. They now show our machine reading and one link to the original Gazette PDF on SaderLex. Old /scan/ links redirect to that PDF, and we deleted the 5,696 hosted files. Older journal entries say to check a reading against the page images: open the SaderLex PDF instead.

A privacy policy and terms of use.

/privacy/ says what we measure, what we keep and how to ask for it to be deleted. /terms/ says the site is information, not legal advice, that the Official Gazette is the authoritative text, and that the API and MCP server are free, limited per client and provided as they are. Reuse of the data follows the licence on /data/. Both pages are linked in the footer.
