This Decree aims at specifying the fundamenttals of hazardous waste management in accordance to the Law No. 80 dated 10/10/2018 (Integrated Solid Waste Management) in particular its Artice 27 (Clause 2).

The fundamentals of hazardous waste management include a characterization and a classification of these wastes, as well as the establishment of an appropriate monitoring and controlling system to control the operations of generation, sorting, collection, transport, storage, recovery, treatment and final disposal of hazardous wastes, aiming at minimizing the negative impacts on the environment.
